Jennifer Baker presents EU Tweets of the Week, looking at the good, the bad and the ugly in the European Union Twittersphere this week:
- Most debated: nomination of Violeta Bulc – who “believes in the power of positive energy and pure thoughts” – as Slovenian Commissioner-designate, replacing Alenka Bratušek after her resignation
- The good: #AskAnsip Q&A session on Twitter was a great start for Andrus Ansip, incoming Vice-President of the Digital Single Market
- The bad: UKIP leader Nigel Farage saw his EFDD Group fall apart, the European Parliament dissolved the Eurosceptic group after Latvian MEP Iveta Grigule resigned
- The ugly: Günther Oettinger reassured Europe that he is the right person for the Digital Economy and Society portfolio by stressing that “he uses the internet every day!”
