On Tuesday 6 October, the European Court of Justice invalidated the EU/US Safe Harbour Agreement for not-so-safe EU personal data sharing. In other news, the Council’s position on Data Protection Directive law enforcement is expected shortly as trialogues are still ongoing on the counterpart RegulationRoaming charges will be abolished by 2017, but the Parliament needs to rubber stamp those and work out the whys and wherefores of how details will be managed. Seven Digital Single Market consultations are still on the table, amongst them platforms and geo-blocking. Finally, Commissioner Oettinger’s copyright proposals are to be revealed in next two months.
