TTIP transparency: “crucial to have access to negotiating documents”, claims GUE/NGL Group

October 15, 2014 - Foreign Affairs & Trade

David Lundy, press officer for the GUE/NGL Group, talks about the group’s protest calling for more transparency in the trade negotiations between the European Union and the United States, taking place on 15 October.

Lundy questions the transparency of the TTIP negotiations by pointing out how problematic access to the TTIP negotiating documents is at the moment, and underlines the importance of creating a more open and involving debate on the EU-US trade deal. According to the GUE/NGL’s press officer, it is of vital importance to facilitate access to the TTIP negotiating files for MEPs, journalists, as well as the general public.
