The European Union is the World’s largest donor of development assistance. In 2011 for instance, the EU spent 53 billion euros to support developing countries. In order to make poverty reduction strategies more efficient, the EU launched a new platform for blending private and public funds for external cooperation in December 2012.

Leading EU affairs journalist Grégoire Lory, provides a Story on how this new platform will change the nature of external cooperation in the future.
