Jennifer Baker is joined by Richard Weber – President of Eurochambres – to discuss how the European Union can contribute to creating a more friendly environment for businesses, enterprises and start-ups, at the occasion of the European Parliament for Enterprises event, where European entrepreneurs directly addressed the European Parliament.
Weber acknowledges that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were not hit by the crisis as strongly as other sectors, but argues that they face some big challenges nevertheless. The President of Eurochambres points out that SMEs are significantly hindered by internal banking regulations. When it comes to skills, Weber notes that support for stimulating long-term employment also is of crucial importance.
