Shareholder must have a say in board of directors remuneration, says Parliament’s spokesperson

The economic crisis has highlighted remuneration practices for directors which favour the short term and sometimes reward failure. MEPs are to vote in Plenary on a recommendation by the European Commission aiming at allowing shareholders to vote on salaries for directors of listed publicly traded companies.
