Economic governance: Parliament calls on paying more attention to national specificities

June 24, 2015 - Financial & Competition

Marjory Van Den Broeke – spokesperson for the European Parliament – joins Jennifer Baker to discuss Parliament’s mini-plenary debate on economic governance, ahead of the European Council of June 25-26.

An EU economic governance framework is to be debated and voted in mini-plenary on Wednesday. Parliament is likely to call on paying more attention to national specificities and possible spillover effects to other countries. The very thorny situation of Greece will also be debated, with MEPs advocating for more transparency in the discussion between Greece and its creditors.
