Jennifer Baker presents EU Tweets of the Week, looking at the good, the bad and the ugly in the European Union Twittersphere this week:
- Most debated: On Monday, thousands of demonstrators marched in Brussels against China steel trading and its request for Market Economy Status.
- The Good: The European Council formally adopted plans to combat climate change after COP21. Hear hear for concrete actions against climate change!
- The Bad: Following the Alternative für Deutschland leader Frauke Petry’s anti-migrants statements, Commissioner Oettinger said that ‘he’d rather shoot himself than be her husband‘.
- The Ugly: A picture is worth a thousand words, but this time, Polish newspaper wSieci really crossed the line as it splashed graphic depiction of Europe being raped by migrants.
