EU Tweets of the Week: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly – 15 January 2016
Jennifer Baker presents EU Tweets of the Week, looking at the good, the bad and the ugly in the European Union Twittersphere this week:
- Most debated: EU Member States are divided on whether to grant or not Market Economy Status to China.
- The good: The Commission launched an unprecedented inquiry on whether Poland’s new media law has breached EU democratic standards.
- The bad: Bad week for Belgium, as Commission deems its “Excess Profit” tax scheme illegal.
- The ugly: Denmark could pass a law asking refugees to give up on their valuables in order to pay for their accommodation while applying for asylum.
