Dutch EU Presidency: ‘A seminal six-month for the EU’, claims the ECR Group

In early January, the Dutch took over the Council of the European Union Presidency with a fourfold work programme focusing on migration and international security, sound finances and a robust eurozone, innovation and growth, and forward-looking climate and energy policy.  James Holtum, ECR Group spokesperson, outlines his block’s main expectations for the upcoming six months, urging the Presidency not to wait until the end of its term to come up with proposals. As part of the diplomatic protocol, Dutch PM Mark Rutte is to face MEPs’ questions on the Presidency’s priorities and workload on Wednesday 20 January.
