During the 2014 ETNO-MLex Regulatory Summit, ETNO interviewed Mr Ola Bergström, Director for International Affairs, Swedish Post and Telecom Authority – PTS, who participated in the event’s panel on “Net Neutrality and innovation in the Internet value chain”.
Over 200 guests attended the 2014 ETNO-MLex Regulatory Summit which took place in Brussels on 25 June 2014, in collaboration with MLex, the leading provider of insight, analysis and commentary to regulation and competition specialists in Europe, the US, Brazil and China.
The purpose of the Summit was to create a platform for high level delegates representing telecom operators, the EU institutions, regulators, think tanks, investors and other industry stakeholders to discuss key EU regulatory issues:
What does the industry need to promote a Telecoms Single Market and foster investment and growth? What should be the top priorities for the next Digital Agenda Commissioner? How should the incoming European Parliament deal with regulation of the telecoms sector? Is there a need for specific regulation on net neutrality? How is the current telecoms landscape changing in Europe and how should regulation be reformed to adapt to these changes?
These questions and many others were addressed during two panel discussions covering “Net Neutrality and enabling innovation in the Internet value chain” and “the future of telecoms regulation in Europe”.
