“ETS should be the only climate target”, argues E.ON CEO
Leading environment journalist Sonja van Renssen is joined by Dr. Johannes Teyssen, CEO of E.ON to discuss the current situation of Europe’s energy sector.
Regarding the 2030 climate and energy package, Teyssen calls for simpler objectives and says that the ETS (Emission Trading Scheme) target should be the only target, even though it had been struggling with low carbon prices. Everything else should be left to the market and prices should be as cheap and competitive as possible, according to E.ON’s CEO. He endorses notes that renewables have to be put in place in a smart and cost-efficient way.
