The European Parliament and the Council will try to strike a deal today on new rules for non-EU students and researchers. The idea is twofold, on the one hand, the Parliament will facilitate the settlement in the EU of said students and researchers and, on the other one, allow them to stay for at least 9 months after the end of their studies/contract to look for a job or set up a business.
