ETNO – A look back at the Net Neutrality and Regulatory Debate

As the year comes to an end, we take a look at the Net Neutrality and Regulatory Debate of 2014.

The purpose of the ETNO-MLex Regulatory Summit 2014 was to create a platform for high level delegates representing telecom operators, the EU institutions, regulators, think tanks, investors and other industry stakeholders to discuss key EU regulatory issues:

  • What does the industry need to promote a Telecoms Single Market and foster investment and growth?
  • Is there a need for specific regulation on net neutrality?
  • How is the current telecoms landscape changing in Europe and how should regulation be reformed to adapt to these changes?

These questions and many others were addressed during two panel discussions covering “Net Neutrality and enabling innovation in the Internet value chain” and “the future of telecoms regulation in Europe” and provide an interesting perspective on how the landscape has evolved since the event.
