SPECIAL GREEN WEEK

The EU is set to miss pretty much all of its goals on biodiversity protection set nearly a decade ago. The European Commission blames this in large part on not having had ways of really measuring biodiversity.

During Green Week, Executive Director of the European Environment Agency (EEA) Jacqueline McGlade presented a first ever biodiversity baseline and information system for Europe.

ViEUws spoke to her about what exactly these are and how they could help frame future action on biodiversity.
